So, I'm going to try and get caught up on posting my old posts for 3-Sentence-Ficathon.

First, "Any, Any, But can you taste the difference?". Two, "any, any, "each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way." Thirdly, "Any/any, any fandom, “I’m not brave any more darling. I’m all broken. They’ve broken me.” Fourth, "Ancient Magus Bride, any, leave the garden gate unlocked". Fifth, "Kingdom Hearts, any, "None of this...makes sense to me." Sixth, "Lunar: Silver Star Story, Nall, fish".

Rey understands famine and thirst--for food, water, love, and comfort--and she knows how to do without. But this other Ben, he's only just lost his own world and his own Rey, and he is adrift in a way that she only knows too well.

In the shattered remains of their lives, she knows if you close your eyes when you lean in for a kiss, it's easier to pretend.

Chara ruins every family they're placed in; how else could you explain it? Tossed away by their birth family, taken from their grandparents after the Accident, rejected by the break up of their foster parents' marriage.

Running away to the mountain was the best choice they ever made; Chara looks to the Dremurrs and thinks not this time.

(You think they would have learned by now.)

The shouts are inescapable--kill yourself, kill yourself!--as they echo, half distorted from the speakers hidden around the room, and Mettaton can feel the rest of his half-broken body shutting down under the weight of the shouts, even as The Human puts their tiny hands against his face and whispers "don't listen, no!"

Mettaton looks down into their face, dirty with muck, sweat, and tears, and tries not to cry--if he had a heart and it hadn't broken from the cries of his viewers, it might have broken now under that kindness. "Oh, darling--don't worry about me. Now, go-" he forces the door behind him to unlock and it snaps open. It won't be long before Alphys finds a way around his firewalls and seals it again, though, so he says to The Human "hurry along--I'm sure an adoring crowd is waiting for you outside this stupid mountain!"

The Human--the child--frowns, wilting even as they insist "come with me."

"Die already!" rings out overhead and Mettaton almost laughs.

"Oh, oh no, darling. It's too late for that--why, look at my legs," he tries, when he sees something try to solidify in their face; but his legs are mangled and they look guilty enough that they forget to argue. "Now, get going."

Reluctantly, The Human leaves, giving him one last worried look before walking away.

Mettaton shuts the door and seals it, just to make sure they won't try coming back for him--not that they probably would, because No One is that kind in the Underground now--and reaches for his self destruct button.

Fear is a strange intruder to him, but he recognizes dismay well enough that each time she puts on the pelt, he has to hold himself back from snatching it off her. It's the same whenever she heads off to class, goes on a day trip, or visits friends. He's getting better about it--she encourages him to seek out distractions or new acquaintances to drive off his loneliness--but a part of him is always left behind, waiting to hear the gate unlatch and the sound of familiar footsteps to herald her return.

Saïx finishes talking, shifting to fold his arms before him while he looks down at the two of them, and says "and that's why there's two of you--now, did you understand me?"

"Not at all," Ventus says bluntly.

Roxas visibly relaxes and closes his eyes, saying "Oh, thank god, I'm not the only one."

There is nothing better than a port town; the sights, the sounds, the mounds of delicious fish, ready for the taking.

"I've died and gone to heaven," Nall nearly sings as he starts to take flight.

He doesn't get far as Alex snatches him back by the tail, with a sly little smile, saying "If you eat any of that fish without paying for it again, then you really will end up going to heaven--in the most painful way possible."
