Three Sentence Ficathon is back, but first, I ended up doing some fills for requests in the last year's post, so here's these before I move onto new prompts.

First off, "Hadestown, Hades/Persephone, let's try again". Second prompt is "Hadestown, any, myths vs real life". Third prompt is "Hadestown, any, storm fuelled by the wrath of the gods". And lastly, "revolutionary girl utena, any, 'someone, i tell you, will remember us, even in another time'".

They have done this before--the wheel of fate turns in a circle after all. Spring and winter are cojoined twins, their children, and Hades knows that she must always leave, but this time, he remembers that she always returns as well.

"Wait for me," she says, and he's made a promise to do so--Hades is a man of his word, no matter what--so he shuts off the machines and sends the workers to go on their first break, binding his time until she returns, with only a song on his lips to get him through.

This time, it will be enough.

Eurydice is not the only inmate of Hadestown. Tantalus cooks slop in the company kitchen and whenever he tries to sneak a bite, the old dog growls from the doorway, scaring Tantalus into waiting for a lunch break that never comes. Sisyphus is pushing papers up in the admin building until his eyes itch and his hands cramp and the moment he signs off on the last document, Megaera drops a new stack on his desk with a vicious grin. Danus's girls spill water from their leaky jugs as they rush, so there is never enough water in the canteen and they must rush out again.

Hades hears Eurydice's cries and rolls his eyes--in his town, everyone works and she's going to have to learn that the hard way.

Hermes is the son of the stars, but as his father's son, he is a child of thunder and flashing lightning. The static electric charge that prickles his skin feels like the stinging slap of his father's hand on his back and the roar of thunder reminds him of his old man's laugh.

Tomorrow, he will find at least one frozen body, battered by the hailstones until death, and have to toss them onto the train going to Hadestown, but the storm will not bother Hermes tonight. After all, it's just family coming around to call on him and he's weathered worse than this.

There are whispers of a school that you never leave--there is no break, no new semester, and it is perpetually spring with new students arriving and the flowers blooming. Once enrolled, you fall into a hazy dream and never notice looping calendars, the never ending halls, or the shifting walls that you could have sworn were once in the science lab but are now in the gym.

But in that school, there are whispers too--of two girls, one forced out at blade point and another who walked out with her head held high, who escaped.

Here is the truth--you can leave the school, but not really. Word of you remains even if true memory fades; a school never really forgets its most important alumni.
