Some more short form fan fiction that I made for the Three Sentence Ficathon.
First prompt was Puella Magi Madoka Magica, any, "if you must blink, do it now." And the second was Princess Tutu, any, "if you look away, even for an instant, then our hero will surely perish.”
EDIT: Rather than make another post, I decided to just add on to this one, so here's another prompt I did: Greek mythology, Eros/Psyche, the effects of a love-dart are only temporary
They stand on the brink, watching grimly as the Wraiths advance ever closer.
"If you want to turn back," Mami offers, as the miasma trickles forward, "now's your last chance."
Homura has already summoned her bow as she answers, "that time's already past."
Mytho--no, Prince Siegfried--falters for a moment, falling to a knee before the Raven. Duck--just Duck, not a girl or Princess any longer, god, she feels so useless--gasps and trembles. She dares not close her eyes because what if he were to look at her and find even her turning from him?
No; she has come this far, done so much to save him, and she will not abandon him in the hour of greatest need.
He knows his craft, his tools well enough to know that he can wait this out and this silly business will soon pass. That is not what he worries about; he knows his mother's fury and penchant for revenge and he quickly learns to pity a mortal princess who falls from grace with parents whose hands and voices are crueler than he could have guessed.
The effects won't last long, so he has to work fast; as long as the dart holds sway, he can always tell his mother that he couldn't resist.
